Anne Riddell

Understanding the Barefoot Horse and Natural Hoof Care – Anne became interested in barefoot horses in 2000 when she and her partner decided to race their Thoroughbreds without shoes. She has studied all the different advocates of the modern barefoot movement. Anne was originally Certified by the American Association of Natural Hoof Care Practitioner’s and is Board Certified by the American Hoof Association. She has studied with Dr. Robert Bowker, Michigan State University, Dr. Elenor Kellon, Equine Nutrition and Pete Ramey for continuing education credit for Veterinarian’s and Vet Technicians in jurisdiction with the AAVSB’s RACE approval program. Anne specializes in Founder and laminitis and high performance barefoot horses. She also gives private training to horse owners on trimming their own horse. Anne owned and operated one of the first Paddock Paradise and Rehab facilities at her farm in Georgian Bay. Her lecture discusses the benefits of the natural barefoot horse program. Founder and laminitis case studies will be highlighted in her presentation as well as the transition to the high performance barefoot horse.
